Common issues.

I have tested the discs with the current version of the following browsers:-

Internet Explorer        Safari        Firefox        Opera        Netscape Navigator       Flock        Google Chrome

Scroll down or click on a logo to view known issues with each.

They are all able to adjust the size of the text if needed, but earlier versions of some browsers may not display parts of the disc exactly as designed. Since they are all free to download and use, if you do not have the latest version, I recommended you upgrade by visiting the appropriate website.

Using the tools on www.colorfilter.wickline.org I have tested all the parts of the CD that I have made (and this website) to ensure they can be used by anyone with restricted colour vision.
I have also viewed it with browsers I have never heard of via www.browershots.org
Every page has been tested for w3c XHTML 1.0 compliance with the validator on www.w3.org

Internet Explorer.

Displays as intended at high and low screen resolutions and small and large text settings.
With IE7 if the whole page is zoomed or shrunk, links become slightly but progressively misaligned, left to right across the page. They still work, but some titles cease to be visible.
If you are still using version 5.5 some tables float left instead of centre.

Safari.

Displays as intended, except at higher screen resolutions you will need to enlarge the text.
Running under Windows, "control and scroll" only seems to zoom the text not the whole page.
F11 - Full Screen - not available but not necessary with the uncluttered toolbar.

Firefox.

Displays as intended, except at higher screen resolutions you may need to enlarge the text.
Firefox 3 now includes the ability to zoom images as well as text.

Opera.

Displays as intended. Zooms, but the text and image size cannot be separately changed.
Do not tick "Fit to Width" in the "View" settings.
The title of some of the graphic links sometimes includes the entire filepath.
Using the "back" button sometimes confuses Opera and links become misaligned. This is can be correctd by reloading the page (control + R).

Netscape Navigator.

Displays as intended, except at higher screen resolutions you may need to enlarge the text.
Support ended in March 2008. If you have not already installed the zoom add-on you will need to migrate to Firefox.

Flock.

Slow to load. Ignores image placement code.
At higher screen resolutions you may need to enlarge the text.
Cannot find a way to zoom the maps.

Google Chrome.

Displays as intended, except at higher screen resolutions you may need to enlarge the text.
Cannot find a way to zoom the maps.
It is clean and fast for surfing but makes little difference running the disc.
There is no javascript on the disc but some on the site behaves unpredictably.
